When Alexander is not travelling he divides his time between Berlin and Cape Town.

Born and raised in South Africa, his love for photography and curious mind has

brought him into contact with fascinating people in diverse places.

Having lived in Central America, Asia, Africa and Europe he specialises in street,

portraiture, documentary and fine art photography. In his personal work he aims to capture those fleeting,

seemingly mundane, moments of people, culture and life. Immersing his viewers into a

different world his work is characterised by the raw, human quality that underpins every culture.

Through SINK, a studio founded by Alex in 2017 he creates conceptually oriented works aiming to jam

lazy thought processes, wedging between realities to create space for interpretation and discovery.
